Major Photovoltaic Energy Project Planned for Southern Israel
Enlight Renewable Energy has been awarded two photovoltaic energy projects with a combined installed generating capacity of 8 megawatts. According to Haaretz, the project’s building budget is estimated at $16 million (60 Million NIS) and will be built on land leased from Kibbutz Kramim, in the northern Negev, and Moshav Idan, in the central Arava Desert. It is expected to generate annual gross revenues of NIS 8 million over 20 years. Englight, which is controlled by the Eurocom Group, has also recently raised NIS 18 million (about $5 million) in a rights issue, according to Globes. Last month, Englight secured €10.5 million (NIS 52 million) in financing to jointly acquire with Econergy Svilupo (Development) srl three photovoltaic solar fields in Italy for the production of 3 megawatts of electricity.
